This dress is gorgeous!
The dress is made of tulle, which has been hand painted, hand embroidered and beaded. Herrera used stones in many shapes and sizes – round, teardrop, oval and rectangular cut stones, tiny cut beads, chalk sequins and mother of pearl palettes are intricately dispersed throughout the design. This particular gown was inspired by the painting by Franz Xavier Winterhalter, an artist often commissioned by royalty in the 1800’s. The painting is a portrait of the Empress Elisabeth of Austria 1865. It's truly a work of art .... so beautiful, classic and rich with with delicate details. Has been professionally cleaned and stored.
