About the Dress

This dress was everything I could have dreamed of, It felt really couture and chic to me the moment I put it on. I loved the hook and eyelet clasps down the front of the bodice and the sheer straps added a unique and subtle detail (btw, this dress could be strapless, if you'd like!). The slit on the side was unexpected and a subtle yet sexy detail that I thought was very fun. This dress was very light weight, but again because of the architecture of the skirt it held its shape, feeling very couture. The fabric is raw silk, so it is an off-white colour.

The dress fit very snug in the bodice, with an adjustable belt in the inside to cinch it tighter if need be. It zipped in the back and was very easy to do up. It was a very comfortable gown because the skirt was so light weight, also, airy because of the slit. The straps were essentially decorative, so they didn't do much to hold the dress up. For photos this dress was great because you could get the skirt to appear very full, but because it was so weightless it was easy to kind of deflate it. I loved the train, it was dramatic, BUT I bustled it in the evening and that gave the dress a whole new look. The bodice had boning in the inside and I felt very secure in it, the top part was ruched and it was very flattering. I loved it so much I didn't do an outfit change!

I am 5'6 and I wore a 3" platform shoe. I am typically a US 4 on top, even though the dress is a US 6, so I think this could be for a 4 or 6. I had the dress dry cleaned and everything looks as good as new except for the bottom of the train. There are some extremely faint stains that my dry cleaner didn’t get out. I want to emphasize faint, but if you look very closely you can make them out. This could be solved by removing or bustling the train. If you plan to keep the train - they can get a bit dirty as you drag them around and so you may not notice at all. I honestly can't even see it as any discolouration blends into folds of the material.
