Monique Lhuillier, Maeve

A truly iconic Monique Lhuillier gown from the Signature Collection, the “Maeve” ballgown is considered one of her most iconic designs. It is a scoop neck / V-neck ballgown with hand-appliquéd floral detailing, a low back, and a hidden back-zip closure. The color is “silk white / cameo”, giving it a subtle blush undertone (see photos). The gown is ethereal, feminine, and effortlessly flattering.

The lace is beautiful, romantic, and photographs exquisitely, standing out as white on top of the soft blush tulle fabric. The ballgown keeps its shape using horsehair (rather than a hoop) and has light layers of tulle, making it very light and comfortable to wear — it almost floats. The inside features a smooth, silk-like slip for comfort and a flattering fit against the body, ensuring it is as comfortable as it is stunning.

After the wedding day, it was immediately sent to J. Scheer NYC for museum-quality professional cleaning and preservation (documentation available).
