About the Dress

I am selling my Monique Lhuillier Alexandra wedding gown, purchased directly from the Monique Lhuillier NYC flagship and altered there as well. The gown was originally ordered in a bridal size 10, but I lost a significant amount of weight between purchasing the dress and my final fittings, so it was professionally tailored down quite a bit.

For context, I was around 150 lbs when I purchased the dress and closer to 133-135 lbs at the time of my final alterations. In everyday clothing I was wearing roughly a US size 4/6 or XS/S by the time the dress was fitted. Because of this, the gown was taken in substantially at the bust and waist.

The current garment measurements (laid flat, doubled) are: gown bust 28" and waist 23". The topper measurements are bust 30", waist 26", shoulders 17", sleeve length 26", and neck opening 12". Based on these alterations, the dress now fits closer to a bridal size 6 (maybe 4). The gown has a zipper back and no stretch, and the skirt is full so the hips are forgiving.

For reference, I am 5'7" and wore 3.1" heels, so the hem was altered for a total height of about 5'10".

The gown has been professionally cleaned and preserved by J. Scheer & Co., the preservation company recommended by Monique Lhuillier, and is in excellent condition.

The train is finished with an English bustle, which creates a very clean look when bustled. The last two photos show the front and side view of the bustle, and I also have a video showing exactly how to bustle it, which I’m happy to share with the buyer.

NYC pickup would be ideal, though shipping can be arranged if needed.
