About the Dress

If you’ve tried on the Limka, I can only imagine you’re already in love with this dress. It was the most beautiful thing I saw in many, many months of searching. The 3D floral appliqués are individually hand sewn, and they are so intricate and unlike anything else I’ve seen on any other dress — they just float so beautifully on the skirt and the silhouette is so classic and timeless and so so feminine. Love love love. I was so happy to have chosen this dress.

The dress was originally made for a 34 inch bust and 26 inch waist; I went nuts and lost more weight than I should have in the run-up and it was altered to fit the following measurements as of my last pre-wedding fitting:

Bust: 31.5 (32B-ish)
Waist: 24.5
Hips: who knows maybe 38 but this is not a factor due to style (god bless that)
Height: hemmed in front to suit my height of 5’8” including flats (I’m [removed] once I decided to wear flats for the ceremony.

Bustle added by my seamstress (see photo with horse). Complicated bustle involving different kinds of snaps but my best friend had no issue doing it up and it was perfect for dancing. I will send you the “bustle assembly video” from the seamstress if useful.

Professionally cleaned, preserved, and stored in an acid-free preservation box. In good condition — the inner lining of the dress is very delicate and will have some wear and tear from where it touched the ground (and dress preservation specialists worked hard to get even that as minimal as possible), but none of that is visible from the outside through all of the floaty layers of fabric and flowers— the visible portions of the dress and the incredible appliqués are in good condition.

FYI on the photos: I wore the matching Suri/Limka veil from Mira Zwillinger, which I’m keeping out of extreme sentimentality, but I can’t say enough good things about how magical that veil was with the dress. I’m sure that’s the last thing you wanted to hear so sorry to your wallet but it is what it is. And lastly … congratulations! Hope you’re having the dreamiest engagement and getting ready for a lifetime of happy adventures. Xx! Happy to field any questions you might have; just let me know.
