A rare, one-of-a-kind bespoke couture wedding gown by Gert van de Merwe, one of South Africa's celebrated designers, custom-made in 2006.
This beautifully crafted gown is a timeless example of Gert van de Merwe's elegant and feminine design. The strapless, asymmetrical bodice is hand-ruched in luxurious ivory silk georgette, gently sculpting the figure and creating a defined waist.
The bodice flows into a graceful three-quarter-circle skirt, made from silk dupion and layered with delicate silk georgette. The combination of fabrics gives the skirt a wonderfully soft, fluid drape while retaining an elegant structure.
An exquisite handmade silk flower sits at the side of the bodice, providing a delicate and distinctive finishing detail.
The gown comes with its original four-metre-long veil, hand-trimmed in Chantilly lace. The exceptional length and beautiful lace edging create a wonderfully romantic and sophisticated finish.
Condition: Excellent. The gown has been carefully stored and is in beautiful condition. There is one very small, almost imperceptible mark on the left-hand side of the skirt, just below the flower. It is barely visible and does not detract from the overall appearance of the gown.
