The Ana gown by Nadia Manjarrez Bridal is an ethereal A-line wedding dress crafted from luxurious silk crinkled chiffon, with a full, romantic skirt featuring soft cascading vertical ruffles and delicate edging. Retails for approximately $5,000, including the matching veil and cape/scarf.
**IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT BODICE ALTERATION:**
I want to be completely transparent about an alteration that was made to the top of the dress, as it does mean that MY GOWN DIFFERS SOMEWHAT FROM THE ORIGINAL DESIGN pictured by the designer.
Unfortunately, the bridal shop sent my measurements incorrectly to the designer, which resulted in the cups being too large. The shop therefore made a SUBSTANTIAL ALTERATION to the bodice to make it fit me properly. As a result, the original sweetheart neckline has been changed, and the dress is now essentially a straight, strapless neckline.
The alteration also reduced some of the original structure of the bust area. Because of this, I would recommend the dress for someone with a similar or smaller bust than mine. I am on the smaller side myself and the fit is quite snug, so I would not recommend it for someone with a significantly larger bust.
There are also a few small differences in the finishing as a result of the alteration. The designer used a special machine to create the original finish on the top edge, while the bridal shop used a different machine, so the finishing on the front is slightly different from the back. I have included pictures where you can see these differences.
There are also some subtle details at the back from where the bodice was taken in.
I am a perfectionist, so I wasn't completely satisfied with how the alteration turned out at the time, and I want to mention this honestly rather than have the next bride be surprised. However, I felt incredibly happy and beautiful in the dress on my wedding day. I had explained the alterations and my concerns about the result to several people beforehand, and at the wedding they all told me that they would never have known there had been an issue and that they thought the dress looked beautiful.
So while I want to be completely transparent about these details, they did not take away from how beautiful I felt wearing the dress or how the dress looked overall. The main reason for mentioning them is simply so that the next bride knows that the bodice is different from the original designer construction and can make sure the fit is right for her.
CONDITION:
The dress was worn for my wedding and, because of the volume and length of the skirt, there may be some minor signs of wear or small areas of pulling/tearing along the bottom hem from occasionally being stepped on.
Due to the fullness of the skirt, these are not always noticeable when the dress is worn.
The length could also be trimmed if you are shorter than me or wear smaller heels, so this may remove the areas where there is pulling/tearing.
INCLUDED:
- Nadia Manjarrez Bridal Ana gown (ALTERED)
- Matching veil
- Matching scarf / cape
This is a truly special gown with incredible movement and volume, and I would love for it to have another beautiful life with a new bride.
Because of the bodice alteration, I strongly recommend reviewing the measurements carefully and considering the fit of the bust area before purchasing. I am happy to provide additional measurements, photos, or details of the alterations to help make sure it is a good fit for you.
