  • Waist, bust and length were barely touched, so there’s plenty of room for your own alterations

• For reference, I’m 173cm tall and wore heels on the day

The alteration (read this first)
I spent $1,000 having a seamstress reduce the skirt’s volume, removing layers and weight of fabric and adding on a bustle. It keeps the Evans silhouette, draping and train, but it’s noticeably lighter and easier to move in. If you want the full original volume, this isn’t the dress for you. If the standard skirt felt heavy, this solves it. Waist, bust and length were barely touched, so there’s plenty of room for your own alterations. Side, back and layer close-ups are included, plus a retail comparison photo.

How it felt: Comfortable all day and easy to move and dance in. The draping is really flattering through the waist and hips, and the corset back gave a secure, supportive fit.
