About the Dress

For sale: my Vera Wang Gemma with Blush Blizzard Beading, the gown designed for Hilary Duff. This is a 2012 original, purchased at Marcella's in Seattle, worn once on my wedding night, then professionally cleaned and preserved and stored preserved ever since.

On version and price: this is the Gemma with Blush Blizzard Beading, beaded through the bodice and skirt. It retailed at $6,500 new. The standard Gemma without the beading retailed at $5,500, and most lower priced Gemma listings are that unbeaded version.

The Gemma is a strapless mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline, an asymmetrically draped tulle bodice, blizzard beading through the bodice and skirt, and the signature organza blossom hem, with a chapel train. A French bustle was added during alterations, with ribbons underneath the skirt, and all of its pieces are intact and working.

Sizing and measurements, please read carefully: the label size is US 8 and the dress was altered down. I wore it at 5 ft 3 in with 2 inch heels, street size 0 petite. A professional bridal seamstress measured the dress itself as: bust 30.75 inches, waist 27 inches, hip 34.5 inches, front length from neck to hem 53 inches, and back length from the top to the end of the train 77.5 inches. The dress has no room to be let out, it can only be taken in. The fabric has a little stretch and give in the waist and hips.

Condition: worn once, for one evening, professionally cleaned and preserved. One flaw, disclosed honestly and shown in the bodice close up photo: a small sweat stain under one armpit, from my wedding day, which was still there after the professional cleaning at preservation. It is hidden when the dress is worn, and the dress is otherwise in beautiful condition overall.

Included: the dress and its certificate of authenticity (certificate 400193, photographed in this listing). No veil or sash, I did not wear either.
