The Dress

One of a kind, handmade couture Steven Khalil wedding dress.

Worn on the 21st of January 2017, this beautifully manufactured dress was handcrafted by one of the most famed Australian designers, having dressed celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Eva Longoria and Emily Ratajkowski to name a few. I decided to go with a classic look wedding dress that I could look back on in years to come and still be in love with, this classic look is suited to many different women and the dress can easily be made your own with jewellery and hair styling.

Lining is a slightly off-white colour to contrast with the various white laces layered over the top, which allows the handcrafted lace to stand out. The various tones and textures of the fabrics used allows the dress to look different in all kinds of lighting.

The dress has two types of different lace layered over the lining. The first is layer a traditional white lace, covering the lining of the dress completely. The second lace is beautiful 3D beaded lace with crystal detailing delicately positioned to accentuate curves and to create a flattering silhouette. This second lace covers the dress until the mid thigh entirely and then gently fades into the first layer of lace that covers the entire length of the dress and train.

The dress is completed by a dramatic two metre train, this length of train makes for a truly glamorous look and glides along all sorts of floors effortlessly making it quite comfortable to wear. There is both a hand loop and a hook and eye that can be used to shorten the length of the train.

The underneath of the dress is then layered with tulle to complete the trumpet look and create an amazing silhouette. I couldn't believe how the dress gave me a completely hourglass silhouette, creating a beautiful and sensual look.

The dress has a lovely back with a simple zipper, hook and eye and cups in the bust. There is padding in the bust of the dress which can be taken out - I am a C cup, but with padding added or taken out could fit virtually any bust size.

The dress was professionally dry-cleaned and is in mint condition.

I am a size 6, approx. 161cm tall and wore 10cm heels on the day.

Bust 92cm, Waist 73cm, Hips 96cm.
