About the Dress

Elegant ivory A-Line strapless wedding gown, with ruching and embellishments.

I purchased this stunning gown from Avon Bridal in Christchurch in 2012, for my wedding in November 2012. This was my dream dress, hence why I have held onto it, but It seems a waste to leave it in my wardrobe forever! I hope someone else gets the opportunity to enjoy wearing it as much as I did!

The gown features a flattering fit and flare shaped A-line silhouette. It has beautiful bead and sequin embellishments across the bust, on the back of the bodice, and down the lower left side of the gown. The bodice under the bust is ruched. It has a small court length train which can be bustled. The back fastens with a zip and hook, and there are buttons for detail, which I requested as an addition.

The gown was so comfortable to wear, and not once did I have to worry about it slipping down, which is often a concern when wearing a strapless dress! There is ribbing/boning in the bodice which provides great support, keeps the gown firmly in place, and results in a smooth flattering finish. I wore a size 8D strapless bra under the gown.

The gown is an NZ size 6 (US size 2), with some slight alterations. It was altered in the length - I am 160cm tall (5 ft 3 inch) and I wore 3 inch heels. It was also brought in slightly around the waist to fit me perfectly.

The gown is in excellent condition. Only worn once. It was professionally dry cleaned after the wedding and has been stored in the dress bag ever since.
