Vera Wang, Strapless Lace Column Gown

New and never worn, with tags still attached.

This pretty dress has never been worn and is in excellent condition. (The photo is of me trying the floor sample on.) We drastically changed our wedding venue and so I simply picked out a different dress instead!

I bought the gown in the US - it's part of the White by Vera Wang collection and is not available in the UK. I don't think it can even be shipped here, so you would be a very unique bride!

It's flattering and sexy (particularly from behind) while at the same time, very elegant and classy. The Chantilly lace is draped at angles and underneath is a double layer of lightweight charmeuse lining, which is very soft.

It has a beautiful chapel train (57 from waist), is ivory colored and has a side zipper. The silk belt / sash was and is not included.

Charmeuse is a charming, seductive fabric from the world of vintage evening wear, and it's associated with the swooning, bygone glamour of Hollywood's golden-age screen sirens. It's so sensual and silky, and in the 1930s it implied a certain decadence normally reserved for the bedroom. You saw it then in lots of wonderful daring undergarments. It's provocative, and the charmeuse here definitely conjures that vintage allure. In my designs, I like to use a material like this with restraint or with veiling: hide a little, show a little, and let the interplay of different textures tell the story.

I'm a size 2 or 4 in the US and a size 8 here in the UK and it fits just right. I live in London and can either mail the dress to you or meet up anytime. Thanks!
