What are import duties and taxes?

Import duties and taxes may be due when buying a dress from another country, even on second-hand items or items marked as gifts.

In addition to duty, international shipments may be subject to other fees such as VAT/GST/sales tax, brokerage charges, and customs processing or service fees. These costs do not apply to domestic purchases.
