The Dress
This was my dream dress. The finish is a smooth satin in warm white. It's elegant, sexy, and such a flattering silhouette. The train is UNREAL. I normally wear a size 4, and I'm 5'5 and 135lbs. I was measured at the bhldn store and was told to purchase a size 2 which was the perfect fit.
Alterations
I worked with a wonderful seamstress to make this gown absolutely perfect. The opaline already fit like a glove and I just needed adjustments to the bust and the length in the front. I had cups sewn in which can be removed easily without damaging the dress. I am 5'5 and wore 2.3in heels and my seamstress graded the front perfectly into the train. The 6 point french bustle transformed the dress beautifully for dinner and dancing.
The alterations on my dress cost $1200. This dress is 5 layers..so 5 hems. I also opted to have my bustle go underneath the skirt. It's a much more elegant look and fits the dress's style better than a bustle on top around the waist line.
