The Dress

Vintage inspired cap sleeve tea length dress with sheer boat neck and lace appliques throughout. Although my wedding was in 2014, this is still a currently available style from David's Bridal as it is a timeless, classic look! Originally purchased in 2013 for $800. Has a button look down the back but it does have an actual zipper which makes getting ready a lot easier! The dress was so comfortable and perfect for our Sunday morning ceremony followed by boozy brunch at a local restaurant. It has been kept indoors, climate controlled in a non-smoking household inside a garment bag and looks as beautiful as the day I wore it - just needs a steaming on the top layer of fabric. I did include a photo to show a bit of yellowing on the lining - expected given that it is 7 years old.

Please see the notes about alterations as I did a few small things to make it extra special - it does not look off the rack. As this is a tea length dress (mid calf) and not a knee length, note that I did NOT hem the dress so it still has the original horsehair netting in the lining of the skirt to hold its structure.

Alterations

Cap sleeves - I found them a bit tight and couldn't raise my arms so a "V" slit was cut into each and the lace re-attached to give it a finished look. Purchased the satin and rhinestone belt separately and had it attached - tatal cost of that about $200. Added a layer of crinoline to the skirt to give it a little extra pouf.
