The Dress

Rebecca Schoneveld “Shannon” Gown | Size 4

Designer Description:
“This utterly romantic Chantilly lace ballgown features a semi sheer supportive bustier, pockets and an extra long train.”

Highlights:
- Incredibly comfortable, not a heavy dress. I wore it for approximately 12 hours and was comfortable the entire time, including after dinner. The lace is really soft, not stiff or itchy at all.
- Pockets! Great deep pockets that are completely invisible when worn.
Intricate, long lace train. Really beautiful in person, and one of the things that made me fall in love with this dress.
- Eyelash-lace edge details around the bodice edges and on the edge of the train.
- Easy to put on and easy to move in. Invisible back zipper design that makes it a snap to put on, and the bodice boning is flexible so it’s comfortable to sit and move in.

Regarding Condition:
I put “minor flaws or wear” simply because this dress has been worn, danced in, and loved! I can attest to no major faults or flaws, none that I noticed throughout the day, at the end of the night, or the next day. Due to the delicate nature of the chantilly lace I cannot guarantee that there are no flaws whatsoever. The dress was immediately taken to be cleaned and preserved after my wedding, and you’ll receive it still in the preservation box in a professionally cleaned condition!

Alterations

Alterations done by the Designer:
- Skirt slit was reduced (slit doesn’t go up quite as high on the thigh, see images)
- Tulle under the lace skirt was changed from pink (original) to ivory so that it matched the lace
- Cups added to the sheer bodice (easily removed)

Alterations done by seamstress:
- Hem was shortened to accommodate my height while wearing heels (85mm, 3.75”) (my height + the heels is approx. 5' 10").
- Dress bustle was added (two buttons, hidden). The bustle was designed for the train to fold in with the skirt.
