The Dress

I felt like a queen in this ivory shantung silk ball gown by Romona Keveza. Delicate lace appliqué detailing at the waist is the only adornment and the deep-v neckline is a showstopper. The shantung silk is exquisite and unlike anything else I’ve seen - it has texture and a richness to it that is elegant and timeless.
The ball gown skirt also hides two deep pockets, perfect for tissues during the ceremony and a phone at the reception if you wanted.
Looking at the measurements, the hips shouldn’t matter much in this dress as it sits on your waist and flares out from there. Waist and bust are the keys. I’m a 34B for the bust.
The dress zips up the back and some of the lace appliqué lays over the zipper to disguise it a bit.

Alterations

Dress was hemmed slightly, maybe an inch to my 5’9” height in my wedding shoes.
The bodice is made of panels and there are seams under the arms which make alterations possible if needed.
The layers under the skirt can be fluffed and drawn out to make the skirt more full. I compressed them somewhat when wearing the dress to have a slightly smaller circumference, but you can really achieve the full ball gown look if you wanted.
