The Dress

A classic, romantic wedding gown that shows both A-line and ballgown silhouette.

I wanted a dress that could bring a princess feeling without being excessively puffy or blandly flaring down. This dress suited my needs and wearing a petticoat was a perfect decision to add the additional flow of the dress.

I wanted modest exposure so I chose this dress with mid back open with gorgeous sweetheart beaded lace bodice, and a tulle ball gown skirt with a chapel length train.

Please read the alterations. Personally, I believe the alteration significantly improved the beauty and versatility of this dress both for the indoor (chapel, hotel, etc.) and outdoor (garden, winery, etc.) weddings.

My reception was a formal sit-and-dine style with no recreation (i.e. dance). So, no wear and tear!

The dress was worn once in the wedding in 2022 and immediately cleaned professionally, wrapped in muslin fabrics for additional preservation and stored in the original gown garment bag.

Alterations

No Alteration was made in length. I wore high heels and a petticoat.
No bustle added.

The dress was originally size 8. It was the only size available, so I took it and found an amazing seamstress to take-in the bust and waist to fit my bodice, about 2 dress size down.

The dress originally came with a lace jacket (bolero) but I used it to make off-the-shoulder straps. This was the best alteration I ever made. For a slender person with small chest size, I found that the off-the-shoulder straps along with the sweetheart neckline created balanced body shape by enhancing the shoulders.

The alteration cost additional $400 aside from the retail price of the dress $1400.
