The Dress

The 'Amanda' from Oleg Cassini is a traditional wedding dress with just a hint of drama; this structured satin ball gown features a V-neckline; a low back with wide-set straps; and a figure-flattering pleated cummerbund waistband.
As a plus size bride I felt so comfortable in this dress. The design of the dress meant that I didn't need shapewear and could wear a bra underneath and feel supported which gave me confidence. I wore the gown all day and night and despite the volume of material in the skirt and train it was easy to move around in. A key bonus is that it has pockets!
This was a dream dress with a flattering fit and silhouette which enhanced my feeling of pure happiness on the day. I would love another bride to experience this dress on her dream day.
The dress has been professionally dry cleaned through 'My Dress Box' and is in perfect condition with no stains or damage.

Alterations

The dress was taken up largely at the front as it was too long. I am 5'6 and wore sneakers so it was taken up to suit this. The band around the waist was taken in slightly (measurement of this area is approx 125cm) and the straps were shortened to allow the top to fit tighter and support the bust. The dress originally had a deep V neck but this was closed slightly at the front to allow a bra to be worn (see pictures). A bustle was added to the back as well as bra hooks to secure the bra on the straps and back of dress to avoid it showing.
