The Dress

This dress is incredible and I loved every minute of wearing it on my special day! I tried on many dresses at several dress shops, and this was the winner by a long shot. The intricate beadwork, the floral lace, the fitted bodice, the plunging neckline with ample support, the fluffy skirt, as well as the many layers of tulle and textured lace of the skirt, all make for timeless beauty. This dress has a lot of classy sparkle!

I am 5 feet 2 inches tall, and wear a size XS or S in regular clothing. My bra size is 34C. I have an athletic hourglass shaped figure and this dress was tailored to fit me. It falls just at floor length with the 2 inch heels I had on. There are a couple of small white hooks added to the back of the dress so that when you’re dancing at the reception you can clip some of the long train up and not trip over it. Very convenient if you’re like me and excited to dance the night away!

In addition to the pros mentioned, I’ll be realistic about the cons. There were none while I was wearing it all day as it was incredibly comfortable! But there is some wear to the dress, mostly around the bottom. This dress will need a professional cleaning to be looking sparkly and new and ready for your big day. My wedding ceremony was outside, so there are some dirt stains on the nude under layers at the bottom of the skirt. There is also some brown dirt discoloration on some of the lace and tulle around the bottom of the skirt. There are a few small holes in the tulle at the bottom of the skirt from where it was pinned during tailoring/hemming to make it shorter for me. I do not see any large tears or things that compromise the structural integrity of the dress, mostly just the discoloration or staining around the bottom of the dress from the outdoor nature of the ceremony. I am hopeful that this is something that could be taken care of with a professional cleaning. These are parts of the dress that wouldn’t necessarily be visible while the dress is being worn since they are the under parts of the skirt that run along the ground. I’ve tried to highlight what I’m describing in the video.

The upper part of the skirt and the bodice of the dress are in great condition. All hooks, zippers, and buttons intact and functional. There are occasional small loose threads here and there, but no strands of beadwork pulled or missing. No holes or tears or anything like that on the bodice. The dress has been kept in a garment bag in my closet since the wedding. The original sewn on dress tag is still attached inside the dress with the size, model number, color, etc. listed.

This is a gorgeous dress and I contemplated holding onto it for sentimentality, but realized it’s better off being used and loved by another beautiful bride on her special day. I am willing to negotiate slightly on the price due to the need for professional cleaning around the bottom of the dress. This dress was originally a $4,000 purchase so you are getting a quality made item. This is from the designer Emily Hart and the dress is called “London”.
