Staying true to the Georgia Young modern aesthetic the Met gown has thoughtfully placed seaming throughout the skirt to create texture and movement. The structured bodice with off-shoulder wrap detail adds a classic element while providing support to the bust and nipping in the waist. The Met has a pearl silk base with off-white mini mesh overlay.

Alterations

I had the dress professionally altered to shorten the hem (to be floor length for me as I'm 5'5" and wore ~3.5 inch heels), tightened to fit a US size 6, and shortened the arm band (to be more straight across, rather than very draped) and added snaps in the back of the dress for the arm band to wrap around the bust (to be able to make the dress strapless for a 2nd look)
The dress also has ties added under the skirt for a beautiful ballroom bustle
