Carolina Herrera Remi Dress

Started as a bridal size 6, but altered down to fit me/my height. On my wedding day I was a street size 2. See alteration notes for details.

I absolutely loved the way I felt--and looked--in this dress! It provides a very clean, elegant look that is timeless. The dress is all about the silhouette as it is made of a beautiful white silk crepe. I especially wanted white white on my wedding day, not cream or ivory. I loved the way the dress accentuated my curves. The sweetheart neckline is beautiful. The dress zips pretty far down the back (the covered buttons are decorative, not functional). One covered button missing, but it's toward the bottom of the dress so not at all noticeable.

There is a built in, short corset inside the dress; it was designed and made this way. This helps the bodice sit as close to the body as possible.

The dress has horsehair tulle at the bottom to create the trumpet silhouette, i.e. the dress is fitted until the lower thigh/knee area, when it flares out. It has a train that extends behind. See photo #2 from the CH lookbook for a view of the train fully fanned out. So chic and elegant.

I had the dress professionally cleaned and pressed. There is minor staining at the hem of the dress, but barely noticeable. Also, because I had an outdoor ceremony on my wedding day, I resigned myself to the fact that my dress would get dirty... but insider tip is no one will be able to tell from your wedding photos ;)

Alterations

Brought in bodice at the waist, had cups sewn into the bust (I am a size 34A bra), shortened the hem of the dress--I am 5'3" tall, and wore 4.5" tall platform heels on my wedding day.
