This timeless backless silk dress, from the French designer Delphine Manivet, is the Hyppolite 2016 dress, purchased from The Mews in Notting Hill in 2021. The dress is a light ivory silk and feels very light to wear, but the three layers of fabric mean that the skirt falls in a slim a-line shape with a lovely puddle train.
I wore this for my wedding in Dorset last May for a small wedding at Pennsylvania castle, Portland. It was beautiful to wear, being a really simple design with some lovely touches liked the long train and the midwaist tie. Worked beautifully for my 1930s themed wedding! Due to poor weather we stayed indoors most of the time so the dress is in a really good condition. I have also had the dress professionally dry cleaned after the wedding.
