Valentini Spose, V1177

This absolutely stunning Valentini Spose strapless gown was originally purchased at Mark Ingram Atelier in early 2020. While it was being crafted in Italy, the pandemic started and the first bride to own this dress chose to have a small ceremony at home. When it arrived to her in 2021, she made the choice to sell her unaltered, unworn dress via StillWhite. After seeing it in person, I knew that it would be the perfect gown for my own backyard celebration.

I had the dress altered at Jill Andrews Studios (recently featured in Baltimore Weds magazine). We added a silk cream charmeuse lining, a small "ballerina tuck" to allow the bodice to fit more comfortably and prevent the dress from riding down, a few layers or crinoline to create a more full appearance to the skirt and cups to flesh out the wearer's figure. While I chose not to wear the detachable sleeves, they are available with the gown.

I loved so many things about this dress! The small bow helps to define your waist, the "sweep" keeps the drama of a train without the fuss, and the subtle floral details bring an element of whimsy. The dress itself is so light weight and was incredibly comfortable to wear to our outdoor wedding in Baltimore in June. We have since had it professionally laundered and with the exception of very slight discoloration at the hem of the most interior layers of the crinoline lining it remains as flawless as the day the original bride picked it up in New York.
