Collette Dinnigan

This elegant dress is from the current Dinnigan bridal collection called 'Hamptons High Tea'. It was the very first gown I tried on and after that my motivation to try on many more evaporated as I realised I had found 'the one'!! The design is so exquisitely simple, it was light and easy to wear for a Summer wedding... the silk hangs and moves beautifully as it is cut with a subtle flare from the hip to the hem. The bodice is sheer 1930's movie star glamour with the art deco lines of the seam work and just enough sparkle from the sequin and beaded motif.

The dress was purchased from David Jones in Perth in December 2010 and was altered only very slightly by a Dinnigan recommended tailor - the bodice was taken in a tiny fraction to make it nice and firm so as not to move around as strapless gowns can do... and the hem was taken up a little too - I am 168 cm tall, wore 8cm heels on the day and the hem was cut to just skim the ground, so it is still very long. The dress was worn only once and not for a long time as I changed into a shorter dress for most of the reception as we had a progressively more relaxed celebration after the ceremony with more friends joining us.... this means the dress is in excellent condition! It has been dry-cleaned at a reputable Subiaco cleaner and stored in its cotton bag. I have the original tags and box so you'll feel like you have a brand new dress!!
