Jenny Yoo's Avery is a gorgeous A-line dress made of plaid embroidered fabric with a dramatic train. I chose this dress because it was unique, classy, and comfortable! In the end we had a last-minute change to a backyard wedding because of the pandemic and I wore a more casual tea-length dress for that. So I have never worn this dress for more than a few minutes for fitting and alterations.
This dress is surprisingly light for having such a full skirt so it would be the perfect choice for a bride who plans to dance! It would also be good for a summer outdoor wedding, as it was much less hot than other dresses I tried on. I also love the strapless, backless style because it shows some skin tastefully but there's little risk of a wardrobe malfunction.
An art-deco style jewel belt has been sewed on to the dress, but can be removed. I also bought an extra yard of the organza fabric that the seamstress used to make a small modesty panel in the v-neck (see pictures). That barely used any of the extra fabric, so I will send the rest of this with the dress. The seamstress suggested that some people have a set of lingerie made to match their wedding dress, which seems like a really fun idea! Or it could be used for additional alterations if needed.

Alterations
- The dress was altered to my measurements as listed above
- Most importantly, my bra size sits around 30DD-32DDD so this is currently altered for a somewhat busty shape
- There is enough structure built in to the dress that I didn't need to wear a bra with it
- The hip measurement doesn't really matter because of the skirt style, but my waist measurement was 28" at the time
- It is now more like 29" but the dress still fit pretty comfortably when I tried it on to take pictures
- I think you can squish to size since the waistband is so thin, so it is very waist defining
- The gown is also already bustled as the pictures show
- There is a hidden loop of elastic on the skirt that loops over a pearl button on the back waist
- Lastly, the seamstress added a small modesty panel to the v-neckline as shown in the pictures
- Since it is made of the sheer embroidered organza, it adds a little bit of coverage without looking frumpy
- She also cut the panel itself into a "v" to line up with the plaid pattern and keep the v neckline
- I think she did a great job with this!
