As a Mature bride, I didn't feel that a bridal gown would be appropriate but was persuaded by my daughter to at least try on some gowns. I had no intention of buying but only to satisfy her need. However this dress just bowled me over. The feelings and emotion I felt as soon as I put it on was amazing. The cost of the dress increased the original retail price by adding the underskirt and the feature belt that was taken off the ribbon and sewn directly on the dress which makes it more unique.
I am a size 16 and was worried about my size. I was told to look at 18's as they come that bit smaller. However the tied corseted bodice inside brings the waist in and gives you that secure fit.
A great tip by the seamstress that shortened the dress for me, was to use a crochet hook to fasten the buttons. This was a godsend. This made getting into the dress on the day so much easier and made that getting ready experience as it should be...fun!
This dress has the advantage of pockets. I did not put my hands in there on the day but it held a hankie just in case, plus a lucky charm.
The seamstress also added two loops under the skirt which enabled me to bring the train up making the dress more of a little bo-peep style so that we could do our first dance without tripping over.
This dress is classic. It will suit a bride of any age and I can assure you will make you feel so so special on the day.
