The Dress

This is a NEW silk crepe bridal gown that has never been altered, and never worn to a wedding. It is made by the designer Suzanne Neville, and the name of the style is Operetta. It is labelled as size UK 16 / US 12 and the exact dimensions are listed below. Because it has the signature Suzanne Neville corset on the inside, this dress can accommodate a range of body types, and a person of any height can wear it because it has never been shortened. This dress is designed to be worn without a bra: The bodice has supports built into it (see the photo where it is standing upright on a bed). Your seamstress will adjust the underarm fit so that the bodice hugs your chest snugly. There are four layers of gauze under-skirts to give the dress its poofy look, but these can be removed if you prefer a more flowing style. There is so much excess length in the skirt that when you shorten the front of the dress you could use some of that fabric to make short sleeves if so desired. The dress lacks bustle hooks to hold up the long back of the skirt after the ceremony; these are normally added during the alterations phase. I bought this dress for my daughter who is US size 8 and has a 36DD chest. She is having a fall wedding and thought she was in love with the raised leaf pattern on the fabric of this dress. However, the day after I paid a lot of money for this dress, she changed her mind, leaving me with a designer dress that I cannot return, because I bought it on final sale. The dress has been tried on at the bridal store, and another one of my children helped me to stage these photos in our smoke-free home. I put a clean blanket on the bed before laying the dress down for measurements, and we cleaned the balcony before staging photos. The dress has not been dry cleaned because no one has ever worn it to an event, sweated in it, etc. The dress is currently hanging in my closet in a garment bag.
