The dress fit like a glove, I did not hem it at all. The corset top is extremely flattering and I absolutely loved this dress. There is beading all along the neckline and along the back. The corset has a small zipper in the back but the dress buttons up completely up the side, no other zipper. The sleeves can also be removed to be strapless if you have it altered.
