This beautiful Madi Lane Harper gown effortlessly transformed me from my casual style to feeling like a fairytale goddess! I hope it can do the same for another bride.

It was very comfortable. I could breathe, sit down and eat in it comfortably, yet it still clung in a flattering way to my waistline before flaring out to an A line shape; it hid any post lunch bloating perfectly! The lining is a soft and silky material.

I’m UK dress size 10 / 12 depending on brand and style. Please note there is no size label inside the dress but I had to put something. I can send photos of the madi lane label on request.

Worn for ceremony, wedding breakfast, speeches and our first dance, before changing. There are some snags and obvious discolouration on hem of dress. It’s not been dry cleaned, so stains would likely come out; often bridal alterations offer this as part of their service. If you are shorter than me a lot of this would be removed. I can send annotated photos of the imperfections on request. Also, if you are committed to buy this only if it were cleaned I can arrange this.

I don’t wear fake tan and didn’t wear moisturiser to avoid staining the fabric inside. I wore an anti-perspirant. I’ve kept it in bridal bag with a scented wardrobe sachet.

Alterations

Padded bra cups sewn in, I’m a UK 34B and it fit me perfectly
The bodice is structured in a way that doesn’t require a bra
Without pads it should fit 34C
I didn’t like the modesty netting, this has been removed
I had an adjustment made to the original very low V neck; a talented seamstress placed two small strips of fabric at the base to hold it together, then added a small section of applique from the train
It fitted me exquisitely after this - previously it was ‘gaping’
It would be easy to remove this and go back to the original style

The applique at base of V neck was slightly asymmetrical, to mean it is in alignment with a floral applique on the cups
There is a two-part bustle to enable the train to be tucked up for dancing
