The 'Insolite' gown was from the 2020 Rembo Styling collection. I bought it in 2022 for my wedding the summer of that year. It is made of ivory guipure lace in a beautiful floral pattern, overlaid on matt satin. Fitted on the bodice, it flows out at the hips with a slit down the front to facilitate movement. It has a V-neckline and deep V-back with little capped sleeves. The dress was designed in Belgium and made in Portugal, by a family business with a sustainable ethos.

My aim in choosing a wedding dress was to find something that not only looked gorgeous, but also made me feel comfortable in myself. The dress was a pleasure to wear - comfortable, light and fabulously swishy for twirling on the dance floor.

I am generally a UK size 10/EU size 38, petite at the bust and waist and wider across the hips and bum. I wore medium-height heels for the wedding ceremony and reception (7cm), and flats on the dance floor - thanks to the front slit, the dress worked well with both. The dress has been dry cleaned (in any event I didn't wear fake tan or much make up) and stored since my wedding. It is in perfect condition, with no stains, tears or other faults.

I really loved wearing this dress but have come to terms with the fact I'm unlikely to wear it again! I have decided that it is better to give it a new lease of life than to let it languish in a cupboard. My wedding day was joyful and this is a happy dress - it should bring happiness and joy to whoever wears it next also.
