About the Dress
Wedding gown resale notes:
MONROE | iconic/bridal couture FW23
Color Family: ivory + nude
Selling: gown, bolero and veil
I’m 5’3 tall and I wore about 5 inch heels. For reference my husband is 6’2.
Wedding gown arrived in March of 2024
Wedding Day was May 2024 (only day that was worn)
The gown unfortunately has a tear on the bottom of the back portion. It is tule fabric which is easily replaceable.
The veil also has a tear towards the bottom on the edge of the boarder. (Less noticeable)
I purchased this gown from The White Dress in Corona Del Mar.
I ordered the gown in custom measurements but I am almost always a size 4 US in dresses. I needed more alterations since I had lost a little weight.
The customization I made to the gown was to raise the back 1”. I did this because of my height. I didn’t want any risk of ny undergarment showing. I bought Skims low back undergarment shorts for comfort.
The 2nd customization I made to the gown was adding line back panels of the train in the same fabric as the rest of the gown to make the back feel brighter. I honestly did this because I didn’t like the idea of my shoes or the back of my legs show.
I will also include the Galia Lahav garment bag and original GL hanger that the dress was delivered in.
The dress, bolero and veil has been professionally cleaned by a dry cleaner and has been preserved. I can include the box as well. They did a great job cleaning it especially for the gown being fully beaded. I can also include the preservation box.
For the gown being mermaid and fitted surprisingly this dress was very comfortable. The zipper is on the side. The dress is very flattering because of the detail enhancing the shape of the body. I was able to sit and dance very comfortably. I loved this gown because my personality shined wearing it. I felt like myself. The backless portion of the gown is truly a show stopper and sexy.
Alterations
Alterations:
- Alterations were done by a lady (Carla) that has 30+ experience. She works in a bridal boutique called ‘Here Comes the Bride’ in Mission Valley San Diego. She worked every hard on this gown to make it perfect and snatched to my body (as I wanted) until two days before my wedding.
- bustle
- Length
- straps adjusted to my shoulder
- Corset for fitted structure to the dress
- Bra cups (can be removed but is much needed since it is a backless dress) (I am a 32C Victoria Secret PINK for reference)
- Bolero has a link on the chest to easily attach
- Bolero has zippers (made from Galia Lahav) can see embroidery on the zipper
- Bolero fully covers the back (personally had to do this for our Church Ceremony). This makes the gown look very elegant. This is done by having multiple clear buttons around the - gown and bolero to keep it in place.
- Veil was custom made. I used the same fabric as the Monroe gown to surround the edges to match the dress.
I’m willing to provide more information/ picture if needed. If there are any questions please feel free to ask.
I am selling because I hope this gown gets to be worn again with the benefit of my modifications.
