About the Dress

I purchased this stunning Vivienne Westwood Nova Cocotte bridal gown in February 2025 from the Los Angeles, Melrose Place boutique and wore it just a week later on my wedding day, after an unexpected situation with my original dress. From the moment I put it on, I knew this gown was meant to be.

I wore it for just 4 hours, and it remains in excellent condition. There are only some markings on the underside of the hem from where it grazed the ground. these are not visible unless you lift the dress and could not be fully removed with dry cleaning.

Crafted from luxurious heavy silk satin, the dress has a gorgeous shiny ivory sheen that catches the light beautifully. The structured corset cinches the waist, while the elegant draping falls effortlessly over the body, creating the most timeless, sophisticated silhouette. It features a small train that cascades gracefully as you walk.

I am 5ft 4 and wore 2.5-inch heels, and the dress still reached the floor. The Nova Cocotte style runs small , so I would recommend sizing up for the best fit. I am normally a US size 4 and purchased a US size 6.

I had a minor professional alteration by a tailor recommended by the Vivienne Westwood LA boutique.

The dress was professionally dry-cleaned just 3 days after wearing it. There are no holes, pulls, or heavy fabric damage. I am including the Vivienne Westwood garment bag, original shopping bag, and tags.

This dress is the epitome of classic, simple, and effortless glamour, and I truly felt amazing in it. I would love for it to make another bride feel just as special!

Alterations

1. The top of the dress was expertly pinned for a subtle alteration, allowing the fabric to drape beautifully across the bust and softly enhance the décolletage.

2. A minor amount was removed from the front of the gown, to adjust the length. No additional length was removed form the tail of the dress.

3. A small bustle was added underneath the dress
