I wore this on my wedding day in 2014. Has been hanging in my closet, sealed, since then. The bottom silk that looks like feathers, has some obvious wear from the floor/heels from dancing, but could absolutely be altered. I am 6'1" without heels so anyone shorter could have a tailor easily cut off a lot of the bottom while still getting that floor length look. This dress is so romantic and makes you feel like you are walking wearing feathers. Have never received so many compliments.
