Amsale, 1990s Original

Early 1990s Amsale gown. This dress was the first piece the designer ever created - it was closely designed after her own wedding dress and has become the most iconic Amsale dress to have ever been released. It was such an important piece for the brand, when Amsale died in 2019, a modern version was reissued in her honor. This is a rare chance to own the original dress that started it all! Details inlcude a high neck line panelled with silk chiffon, exaggerated sweetheart neckline, buttons, and a zip closure at the back with rosette detail, and a full skirt with inbuilt crinoline.

I purchased this dress at a curated vintage wedding dress shop in Los Angeles called Transplant Vintage. I fell in love with this dress as well as one other and could not decide between the two so I purchased both. I ultimately chose to wear the other dress I purchased and left this one unaltered and unworn. I had a hard time letting this one go, but it is so beautiful and deserves to be worn! I'm reselling for the exact cost I purchased it at, including taxes, because it is completely unused by me and like new from the Transplant Vintage restoration process.
