Madra washed and starched the cotton so it would hold its shape, fully lined the skirt, and used silver glitter thread to sew the inside seams and she gave me POCKETS!
I got married in a Scottish castle, on a cold, dry February day and I didn’t shiver once in this dress. I wore my Dr Martens boots and we took photos in a field and had a huge bonfire and the next morning I went wild swimming and this dress was what I needed for that weekend. I guess what I’m saying is, maybe this is a casual dress for the ‘anti-bride’ but it is beautifully made, of excellent quality, endlessly adjustable and changeable, and it has a little bit of rebel spirit that… just doesn’t seem to be an ‘every bride’ kinda thing. Open to offers. It’s beautiful. It’s casual. You could chop it up and change it up and make it you. You could take the top off and add lace, you could add a veil (I couldn’t be bothered!), you could have the skirt lengthened or the waist taken in or out or… You get the picture. Give it a good new adventure, please!
