This breath-taking couture design remains current, and is available through the Claire Pettibone atelier website.

My version has a pale Champagne-gold silk slip, rather than the light blue colour shown in Claire's studio images. The overall 'flavour' of the dress is of warm Champagne gold and silver. It is lavishly embroidered, screaming craftsmanship and opulence.

The dress is sized at standard UK 10, and fitted me perfectly at 5'8 in height (I wore flat sandals) with a 32DD chest. I wore a nude adhesive bra on the day (note the lovely keyhole back), which worked well because the dress' silk cups helped to keep the bra securely in place.

The dress was used for our beach elopement. So, while it was only worn for a short ceremony and photographs (= no trampling men, spilled drinks or sweaty dancing!) it was worn outside. Consequently, it has sustained minor marks to the ivory slip, and minor marks/tugs to the embroidery work on the train. These are in no way noticeable, but it would be remiss of me not to mention. The jewelled fastening above the keyhole back is complete and in order. The dress has been dry cleaned, covered in plastic, and stored in its original bag since use. Smoke-free home, and the cat has been banned from the vicinity.
