Love Spell, Charlie

The most beautiful Charlie dress from Love Spell London, worn once for my May wedding this year. This gown truly felt like a dream come true — elegant, versatile, and so comfortable!

What makes this dress so special is that it’s really four looks in one. The base silhouette is Blanc by Love Spell: a sleek and timeless V-neck dress with a low back and delicate spaghetti straps. You can then add either, or both, the detachable tulle over-skirt and the matching bolero for completely different styles throughout the day. I wore the overskirt and bolero with the gorgeous flowing sleeves for the ceremony and reception, then removed them in the evening for a ‘second dress’ look.

The bodice is lightly boned for structure and has had B cups fitted for shape and support, so it feels secure without needing a bra. The dress is fully lined, making it not see-through, while still keeping a slim, non-bulky sheath silhouette.

The dress also features an elegant train, with a bustle added which made dancing very easy! The overskirt and bolero are beautifully detailed with delicate petal embroidery which is such a romantic touch and was perfect for my spring wedding. (Both the Charlie and Blanc designs are from Love Spell but are the same as the dresses of the same names from Love and Liberty.)

The soft cathedral-length veil is also included. Both dress and veil have been professionally dry cleaned.

The dress was originally a size 10 but has been altered: the top now fits more like a 6/8, while the skirt is closer to an 8. For reference, I’m 5’6” and wore 2" heels.
