It's time to let it go!
I love my dress but I think it deserves better than "hanging out" in my closet.
Take this dress for less than 1/3 of the price.

BRAND: Lillian West (Style no. 66135) (original link: https://justinalexander.com/lillian-west/wedding-dresses/66135/)
YEAR: 2021
SIZE: Could fit street size 6-10, depending
CONDITION: Good, Used, Minor Damage
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: This beautiful gown was purchased for $1750 (with tax) as a sample sale item. Likely tried on quite a few times but only worn for my wedding. Professionally altered to fit a size 6-8 street size but somewhat flexible thanks to the A-line cut. This dress has been professionally cleaned (over a $200 value)
Why I loved this dress:
It's beautiful
A-line design is universally flattering
High quality chiffon fabric that falls and flows beautifully - I tried on quite a few gowns and this was by far the one with the best "fall" of the skirt fabric - I'm picky with materials I liked and I instantly felt comfortable with this one
Easy to move around in
I could eat in this gown!
Great for warm weather - breathable skirt, felt cool and airy even in 28-30 degree weather
Unique, elegant, high quality lace design (no flowers, just leaves - the only one I found like this!)
Beautiful beading/details
Adjustable straps at the waist to customize to your comfort level
Corseted bust to feel extra secure - all I had to do was sew in cups, no strange underwear needed up top!
Alterations:
Originally a size 12, it was altered down to fit my measurements (see below - approximately a size 8 wedding, 6 or S/M street size) - this alteration impacts the bust, arms and shoulders and is not visible to anyone who doesn't know the dress well - I am happy to walk anyone through what was done so they know what changes have been made. This alteration has the benefit that the waist of the dress is comfortable while the rest of it simply fits.
Length taken in for my height plus 2.5 inch heels (5'8") -> Note that my wedding was outside on a farm and so I had it altered to hit at toe height exactly (so about a half an inch or few cms shorter than where many people have their dresses altered to).
Sleeves shortened to a flattering 3/4 length sleeve with extra buttons so you can put it on without damage
Gusset (extra fabric) added under arms to increase range of motion
Matching ribbon added to accentuate the waist
Cups sewn in to fit size 36B/34C bust (can be removed very easily, or more can be added for a slightly smaller size - I might not recommend this dress to someone smaller than a B cup)
Modified three point/bow bustle (no bow) - not just functional, but beautiful too! - will need to be "reinforced" prior to second use, but this is not a difficult alteration
Damage:
Few very small pulls in the train/outer skirt - easy fix by a seamstress if desired but not noticeable
Skin colour mesh at bust and shoulders has slight damage and there is a small hole at the back - this is because the beading/sequins themselves tend to catch the mesh - seamstress for alterations indicated that repairing this would make it more visible/cause more damage than to keep it as is. This feature of the dress means the dress requires care when handling but this damage is not visible when you wear it as all of these parts are skin coloured - also, I took this dress on a plane without further damaging it, so if you know how to care for it, the damage doesn't get worse.
