Margareta by Karen Willis Holmes, I wore this beautiful dress on the best day of my life! It is a gorgeous ivory beaded and sequin dress with a double layer satin underdress that joins with the beaded layer. I loved the long sleeves, boat neck and elegant feel to this dress which was very slimming and flattering. I had cups inserted to fit between a 10D/DD, so no need for tape and because of the weight of the dress and triple layers, there is no need for shapewear underwear. I am generally a size 8-10 in brands like Country Road and Dissh and this dress is a 12 meaning someone who is an 8 (with broader shoulders, larger bust) right up to a 12 could fit into this dress as the satin has a slight strech. I liked that it was a looser, sheath like fit on me, however still felt glamorous and fitted! I have seen other brides wear this as a tighter fit and flare style. I was able to move around with ease despite it being a heavier dress with the beadwork. I also have the hand beaded belt that goes with this however I choose not to wear it.

This dress was worn for 3 hours during our photos and then for the ceremony. No eating or dancing in this dress so no stains or torn train, however as with all beaded dresses, some loss of beads and sequins occurred but this is not noticeable or takes away from it.

This dress is perfect for a spring, autumn or winter wedding. I carefully hand washed the dress and it was dried and stored flat so that it does not stretch out of shape.

Alterations

Cups for size 10D/DD inserted (between the two layers of satin), dress maker can easily interchange these for smaller/larger size
Hemmed to my height of 175cm plus 6.5cm heels
The two layers of satin have also been shortened so that they are hem length the whole way around the dress rather than being a train which I found to be really heavy and awkward when they were train length
The beaded layer is train length
Two small pearl buttons (one on each side) sewn around the wrist so that the wrist can be worn tighter as the original arms are quite a loose fit
