Alfred Angelo, SILK Vintage Choker High Neck Long Sleeve Basque W

This may be my favorite gown we've ever had in the store. It's breathtaking, & because it's a silk blend (65% Rayon, 35% silk) it's super light & comfortable. (gowns are not made from silk anymore!!) You can really feel the difference in the quality of this dress, just in the fabric compared to modern gowns. They just don't make things like they used to!

I would totally have a seamstress add POCKETS to this gown!

I LOVE the neckline and the stunning pearl-edge detailing at the regal choker, on the basque waist, wrists of long sleeves, bodice... every detail on this dress just is stunning. Some of the pearls vary slightly in colour. The skirt can be made much fuller with a crinoline or petitcoat, & the train is LONG. It is quite wrinkled from storage. This is a vintage shop sample gown by Alfred Angelo that has never been worn, just revived from our bridal storage. This gown has been tried on a handful of times in the shop. It is brand new w/tags, has never been worn (other than for the pics & being tried on in the store), never altered. However This gown had been in our bridal storage for a very long time, & was improperly stored; There is some water damage to a part of the hem of the skirt of this gown, and some marks from storage on the hem, and waist. A professional cleaner should have no problm cleaning the water marks. You will likely require a hem, due to the extreme length of the skirt (most bridal gowns need hemming & other alterations), so some of this may be hemmed right off, or may be totally if you shorten the train. It is hard to photograph due to the lighting and natural colour of the dress. It's a slight discolouration. The wrinkled skirt is easily steamed out, that's just from storage.

The zipper needs re-sewing along the seam (no rips in the fabric, just the threading had come undone), and some of the pearls are off-coloured slightly (easily replaced, but not super noticeable). I am being ruthless on the condition of this dress. It is a gorgeous new vintage piece that is in very good sample condition, especially comparted to some of our dresses in the shop that get tried on A LOT!
