This vintage couture gown is designed by CATHERINE RAYNER - award-winning, leading international, London-based, bridal gown designer. Catherine Rayner is an icon of bridal wear with a dress in the permanent fashion collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

This dress was handmade at Ms Rayner’s atelier in 1991 and is an exclusive one-off design produced for a photo shoot. It is an adaptation of her "Garland" design and is unique, no other Catherine Rayner gown of the exact same design was ever made.

Ivory Pure Dupion Silk with hand-sewn Champagne-Pink Pure Thai Silk Roses
Trimmed with round faux Pearl Buttons on sleeves and along the full length of the concealed rear zip
Bodice and sleeves fully lined in the softest Pure Raw Silk
Bodice incorporates hand-sewn boning
8 x petticoat nets (nylon) : 4 x full length of skirt plus additional 4 from the knee (petticoats are not detachable)
UK size 10 – my measurements wearing the dress : 34 inch bust 26 inch waist 36 inch hip (89 cm bust 66 cm waist 91 cm hip). I am 5"3ft / 159cm in heels.

Condition: Please Read Carefully

This gown has been worn twice – once by a model for the photo shoot and once by me as a bride. The gown has been professionally cleaned and is in wonderful condition for its age. This is a hand-finished, one of a kind piece of vintage couture that is 35 years old, it is not a brand new dress that has just left the atelier and any buyer must be realistic about the condition and delicacy of the fabric. There are natural slight variations in the colour shading and weave of the dupion, these are in no way distinct. Where the right sleeve joins the bodice (by the armpit area) there is a very small hand-stitched repair (shown in close-up photo) which was made after the photo shoot. I have worn it this way as a bride without issues but for the sake of full disclosure I am drawing your attention to this so that you are fully aware. I also make mention of the fact that there is some slight aged yellowing to the raw silk in the lining of the bodice where oils in the fabric have darkened over time. This is not visible on the outside of the Gown. Please examine the photographs when making your decision. The price of the Gown reflects its condition and no refund or return will be accepted.

Delivery / Postage: Please Read Carefully

Within Australia: My very strong preference is for the Dress to be collected from me directly in Gladesville NSW 2111. Where possible, I will personally deliver the dress to you myself in the Sydney area by arrangement. (Other destinations in Victoria, ACT and NSW may also be possible). For postal delivery the Dress will be carefully packaged with appropriate protection against wet, sunlight and physical damage. It will be sent in a box by Australia Post with full tracking and signature on delivery (NO authority to leave). It will also be sent with insurance to the value of $3250. The cost of postage is approximately $140 including insurance (I will cover the cost of postage for a sale at full price). If payment is made via PayPal, the delivery address must be as per the address registered to your PayPal account.

International: Dress will be carefully packaged with appropriate protection against wet, sunlight and physical damage. It will be sent in a box by Australia Post with full tracking and signature on delivery. It must also be sent with insurance to the value of $3250 which I will arrange via Australia Post. The cost of postage is based on your location and I can get quotes for this depending on where you live. Please note that if payment is made via PayPal the delivery address must be as per the address registered to your PayPal account.
USA Only: please be aware that you will be liable for an import tariff set by your government at 10% of the purchase price. The dress package will be held in USA customs and they will contact you regarding payment prior to release.
