Cost & Background

I originally purchased this dress on still white for $850, it was listed as being $1600 retail as I recall. When I bought it, it had only been worn for try ons. It has since been professionally altered for a custom fit and worn once on my wedding day.

Alterations & Fit Details (Please Read Carefully)

Per Madi Lane’s size chart, I measured between a size 10–12, and this dress was originally a size 12. However, it arrived significantly too large in the bodice and required substantial tailoring.

The alterations I got included:
- Significant bodice resizing
- Boning replacement
- Bust cup replacement
Because of these alterations, the dress now fits approximately the measurements listed in this posting rather than the original bridal size. Please go by measurements rather than the tag size.

Additionally, some internal structure/support was removed during alterations to achieve the correct fit. If you’ve tried on the unaltered version of this gown before, please note that the internal construction may feel slightly different.

Bustle & Additions

A beautiful under-bustle was added, which gives the skirt additional volume and dimension when bustled. The bustle includes 4 snaps and 6 ties. Four of the ties detached during the reception but may be able to be reattached by a seamstress if desired. There were also spaghetti straps added that can be worn or tucked in.

Condition

The dress has not yet been professionally dry cleaned and is being priced accordingly. There are minor signs of wear consistent with one day of use, see below for more details.
