Selling my beloved Vivienne Westwood Nova Cocotte gown, worn for my wedding in January 2026.

The Cocotte has become one of the most iconic bridal designs of the modern era... so much so that Vogue described it as "the wedding dress of the decade."

It has been worn by brides including Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato, while shorter versions of the silhouette have been worn by Charli XCX and Hailey Bieber.

What makes this dress truly special is the fabric. The silk drapes organically and moves beautifully with the body, creating a softness and elegance that photographs exceptionally well in every setting. Looking through our wedding photos, I was amazed by how stunning it looked in both daylight and evening light, across digital and film photography.

The corset is everything Vivienne Westwood is known for: incredibly flattering while remaining surprisingly comfortable. It provides structure and support without feeling restrictive, and the draping around the belly area creates a beautiful silhouette while still allowing you to move, eat, dance, and enjoy your wedding day.

Alterations:
Alterations were completed by Tailor Maid in San Francisco. The length was adjusted for my height (5'3" / 163 cm) with 9.5 cm heels. A classic ballroom bustle was also added, which is elegant, secure, and very easy to use. I have a video from the fitting showing the tailor demonstrating exactly how to bustle the dress while it is being worn, and I will happily share this with the buyer.

One of my favorite features of the Nova Cocotte is its versatility. The shoulders can be styled in countless ways: higher or lower on the shoulder, with thicker or thinner straps, depending on the look you want.

For my wedding, I requested a subtle hand-stitched pleating detail to create an asymmetrical drape. The stitches were intentionally done by hand so they can be easily removed without damaging the fabric, allowing the next owner to customize the neckline and shoulders however they prefer.

Cleaning:
After the wedding, the dress was professionally cleaned by Elegance Preserved in San Francisco, the premier bridal gown preservation specialists on the West Coast. They took exceptional care with the silk, avoiding over-cleaning in order to protect the fibers and maintain the gown's natural sheen and character. There are a few marks near the hem, which is reflected in the significantly reduced asking price (RRP $8,240). Once it's bustled up, you won't see them.

Accessories:
This listing includes a two-tier cathedral-length ivory veil with a floor-length blusher attached to a silver comb. The clean simplicity of the Nova Cocotte paired beautifully with the drama and romance of a cathedral veil.

Dress comes with a Vivienne Westwood-branded hanger and VW organic linen dress bag.

This was the dress of my dreams, and I know I'll look back on my wedding photos decades from now with absolutely no regrets. I hope it brings someone else just as much joy on their wedding day :')
