Rhonda Hemmingway, Custom Made

This very special couture dress made by the one and only amazingly talented Rhonda Hemmingway is truly one of her masterpieces! It is a two piece creation - a stand alone dress with detachable tulle skirt which gives you the option to wear the dress two ways. I wore it with the full skirt for the wedding day and removed the skirt for the reception so I was more free to move around and enjoy the party. The most special part of this dress and my favourite detail is the lace, Valentino lace that took 8 months to arrive from Italy and was the only batch to arrive. I spent months and months searching for the perfect lace and then I found this Valentino batch, it is truly one of the most amazing laces I have laid my eyes on. It combines flower applique with subtle pearls and sequences that just flow effortlessly to create a detailed floral arrangement followed by sequenced lines that lead to the next arrangement of detail. The lace creates a very elegant, classic and feminine appearance which is what I was after and was able to add my vintage/art deco touches to. The detachable tulle skirt details individual flower applique from the lace and the edging of the veil is full lace applique.
I absolutely loved wearing my wedding dress on my special day, I didn't want to take it off, the way it fit and felt and sparkled, I will always treasure that feeling.. I now want some other lucky bride to be out there to feel the way I did on my wedding day, like a Queen!
