This dress was designed and hand-made by Ania G Couture, a boutique wedding dress designer in Malvern, Melbourne.
The style is inspired by glamour and vintage-wear, and contours the figure to enhance the bustline and accentuate the waist. It mimicks a fish-tail but appears more like an A-line dress, and has swift, beautiful movement when walking. The front and back is v-shaped, which is extremely flattering on the body.
The bulk of the dress is an oyster-coloured heavy silk, which allows for the contouring of the body and scallops at the bottom. The bodice is made of a nude-coloured mesh which functions both as a figure-control and also as a canvas for laying the beautifull hand-made French lace on top. There is minimal boning in the bodice, whihc make it extremely comfortable for sitting in. There is an invisible zip at the back so that there is a nice seamless line from the front and sides. There is also an adorable swarovski bead on the bottom which serves as a handle to the bottom of the dress so you can tie it up after the ceremony, making it easier to walk around.
The dress has an incredible amount of beading, with hundreds of swarovski crystals embroidered along the French lace.
I am quite broad in the shoulders and hips, however my waist is quite small. This does mean that if you're a size 14 or below you could alter the dress to fit you!
The dress has been dry-cleaned and is in very good condition. It will require another steam before wearing to loosen the scallops at the bottom and flatten out the A-line shape. As mentioned earlier, the dress was hand-made to my figure, so you might have to alter slightly to adjust to your body. Otherwise, it's an amazing buy for such a unique piece of art.
