Beth & Josh's Rustic Industrial Wedding

Following a very romantic proposal, Beth and Josh’s wedding is rustic industrial with a slight vintage style. Beth shares this peek into their special day.

"Josh and I met nine years ago, we were lining up for drinks at a local tavern on the Gold Coast and got chatting, we collected our drinks and went separate ways but it seemed fate had a plan, we ran into each other again 3 times that week. Josh worked away for the first 6 years and at times it put a strain on our relationship but it has made us appreciate our time together, since having our baby boy three years ago Josh was able to change positions within the company to be based at home, which has been our families blessing.

In July last year Josh took Brax out for a bit so I could do some work from home. After a couple of hours I started to wonder where they were, I sent him a text and he replied "look in the oven" I was confused but did so to find a card explaining he had planned a surprise and I wouldn’t see him until I got to the destination. It followed with a series of cards with hints, a limousine picking me up and a journey up to Mount Tamborine to Song Birds Retreat on sunset where I found Josh with candles lit with "Will You Marry Me".

From the beginning we really wanted an industrial theme wedding where we could have both the ceremony and reception. I discovered Osteria’s Refinery on Instagram at that stage they had only just started booking the venue for weddings. The venue was perfect for us, it was a blank canvas so we hired our own furniture from Little Gray Station, Josh built the arbours & the signage, I made the candles, runners, menus and name placements. We also created our own lighting for a romantic and cosy feel.

I always wanted a dress that was flattering with a vintage twist; I struggled to find a dress I loved in the bridal shops so I approached a local designer to create my dream dress. We made some amendments in the last week, adding a belt and attaching my Nana’s brooch. I love French lace and it was one of the major criteria’s when meeting with Casey to design the dress.

We both loved Navy and wanted the groomsmen and brides to be in the colour, I found the girls dresses in a boutique in Noosa when I was there for work and we then went into Politix for the mens outfits and found a shirt with a navy trim and as a gift we bought the boys navy shoes from Myer with belts to match."

Following their honeymoon in Italy and Santorini, Beth and Josh are planning to buy a bigger home for their family and hope to use the money from the sale of the dress to contribute to the deposit.

Thank you for sharing your wedding album with us Beth!
