Why does my payment need to be accepted?
In certain cases, a payment may remain pending until the seller accepts it.
Although most payments clear instantly, some need additional action from the seller or PayPal to proceed. During this time, an order will have a status of Paid and the reason for the delay displayed underneath.
Typical reasons for payment delays:
- Payment was made to an email address not yet registered with PayPal. Seller needs to add their email address to their PayPal account.
- Payment was made using a non-instant payment source such as eCheck. Seller needs to wait several days for the payment to clear.
- The seller must verify their PayPal account before accepting payment.
- The payment is being reviewed by PayPal for risk.
Once payment clears and is accepted by the seller, the order will progress to status Confirmed and is ready to be delivered.
