I think this is a great way to cut down on "waste" and it's great for those who don't have a big budget. The platform is great, with vetted vendors, good pictures of dresses and exact dimensions too. I do think the platform is limited by never offering individuals to be able to try on/ return the dress if the style doesn’t suit. Getting the right wedding dress is one of the most important decisions in a woman’s life, and each persons body is so different. It seems out of touch with modern online shopping needs to never offer a workaround here. I’m fortunate the bride I bought my dress from did allow me to try on first, and it was a hit.

Not recommended for sellers based in New Zealand. The only payout method for NZ is PayPal and they are horrendous to deal with. Even though my dress has been delivered, I have received no money and have heard PayPal can hold your money from anywhere between 21 to 180 days. The communication channel on Still White between buyer and seller is great however. If the platform has a way to hold money to be released when item is delivered then I would recommend using it.

The wedding/bridal industry have become so difficult and overpriced that it can easily take the joy out of what should be the happiest season of life. Going to traditional bridal salons turned out to be a negative experience for me as gowns were overpriced for mass-produced designs that were lacking in quality + the astronomical lead times they require...almost every salon would put pressure on us to order a dress today or I wouldn't have any hope of having it in time for a wedding that was 9 months away. Ridiculous. That's where Still White became the perfect option for me. I was watching designers I knew I loved (Kim Kassas, Leah Da Gloria, Viktor & Rolf, etc.) and found the exact gowns I loved most from bridal salons for a fraction of the price because someone had worn the gown once for a few hours. This became such a no-brainer for me! I love reusing such an expensive and meaningful garment, too. The purchase I made was by a designer I wasn't aware of before, but the process was easy and I feel good about extending the life of this dress that might otherwise live in a box for the next few decades.

Listing process was very easy. The only part of the platform I am not a fan of is PayPal. I understand why it's used (protect financial data) but as someone who does not use PayPal, it was very difficult to navigate the "verification" process that PayPal has in place in order to get paid. Luckily the woman that bought my dress was very patient and understanding, but this could be a real hurdle for first time sellers (as i was) and come across as sketchy to the buyer if the process takes a while. Adding additional payment options is something to consider.
